Ideal Work Balance
Maybe this is unprofessional of me to share so many of my inside thoughts, dreams and aspirations, but I love to be open, genuine and honest. I feel like clients sometimes see me more as a company and not just as a person and I want to remind them that I am a person too.
Right now my next milestone is to get to five Household Operations clients. I am currently at two and since I (Emma) am the one that handles the Household Operations side of the company, that means I would be fully booked Monday through Friday. I'm very looking forward to get away from working in the office, working remotely does have its perks but it is not for me… I'm just not built like that.
We also build custom homes, that is a pretty slow endeavor, even going as fast as possible, just because of all the permitting and inspections that go into it. I love to have one custom home build going on at a time, which is where we're at right now, and I love it! I love the attention the detail and availability that I can offer to my clients.
My company is run by two general contractors, I am the lead, and the other general contractor is dedicated to the one time jobs (I like the routine of House Ops over the prolonged one-per-client remodels and house builds). We also work on remodels one at a time to ensure we are very available and proactive on the jobsite, and we're always double checking the quality, aiming to get ahead of schedule if possible, and also anticipate any needs or upgrades that we hadn't considered before.
If someone were to call me up right now and ask me to do my preferred job, I would say let's do a custom home build of a rambler with 4 to 6 bedrooms, 3 to 5 bathrooms, and an extra large workshop with multiple garages. If that's giving you any idea ideas, then please don't hesitate to call me!
